What to Wear

What to Wear

Girls

I’m guessing most of you will want to bring a couple of outfits, and that’s great! But depending on where we go to take your pictures, places to change might  be limited. If worse comes to worse, you can always change in the back of our car or behind a tree. So if you’re shy, we suggest you wear an undershirt to make changing easier.

Bring a few different kinds of outfits. First, bring something you love to wear and feel great in. The pictures will turn out much more natural if you’re comfortable in your clothes. Bring something that is classic and won’t go out of style so you’ll always look great, no matter what year it is. A plain, dark colored shirt is also a great thing to bring. Dark colors make you look slimmer, and I don’t think any girl would object to that. It will also make the focus of the picture your face, and that’s the whole point of these photos!

If you wanna bring some really interesting outfits, go for it. A picture of you in your prom dress in the woods could end up being your favorite picture! So bring it along!

If your mom wants you to wear something that you hate… well sorry mom! But you’ll look uncomfortable in it so it’s best not to force an outfit on someone. However, it is important that you bring an outfit or two that you mom and grandma love, because it’ll probably end up over someone’s fireplace and your cutest most fashion forward outfit wouldn’t be the most appropriate.

Boys

I doubt you’ll have as many outfit changes as the girls, but you’re welcome to. A collared shirt is something you should definitely bring. T-shirts are fine, as long as they don’t have huge logos on them. You might not always want to look back on photos of you plastered with brand names. The small embroidered logos that are on most polos are fine. The main point for guys is just to keep it simple. Wear something that looks like something you would wear normally.

Everyone

Bring a couple outfits that your parents and your grandparents love, then bring a few outfits that you love.

Don’t forget about your shoes! If your first couple outfits are casual and your last couple are dressy, make sure you have shoes that make sense with both kinds of outfits, or bring a couple pairs of shoes. No one wants a picture of a girl with a pretty dress and huge tennis shoes. (unless that’s the look you’re going for!)

Please have your outfits ready and together before you come so you’ll have everything ready to change quickly. The faster you can get ready, the more pictures we’ll be able to take. If you have different accessories for different outfits, keep them in a bag along with that outfit. I want to spend time taking your pictures, not waiting for you to decide what you want to wear!
