Doors and Sweaters | Springfield Lifestyle Photographer
So Taylor is one of my best friends, and luckily she lives in Springfield, which is where I just moved for school! It has been awesome having the opportunity to hang out with her because before I moved, I saw her maybe twice a year. Which is just not enough. Anyway, we tried to go thrift store shopping this weekend and failed, due to it being Sunday in the south- therefore everything was closed. Good thing I had my camera handy! Taylor is easily one of the most photogenic people I’ve worked with so far, and her look just fits my style so well!
Lately I’ve felt like I’ve been in a huge rut style wise. I really had no idea where I wanted to go with my photography- but I’m pretty sure I do now. I just really really dug every image from this session and I am beyond stoked to share it with everyone! I’m excited for the future of my photography because it just feels like I can rock anything now. Please comment! It would be awesome
Taylor Sneak Peek
I hung out with my good friend Taylor around Springfield this weekend and of course, I ended up taking pictures of her. I met her a few years ago and this is the first chance I’ve had to take her pictures. I’ve always wanted to ’cause well, she’s gorgeous and pretty much just fun. I have a lot that I like but I’ll leave you with one until I edit those:

Drew and Heidi | Springfield Engagement Photographer
I haven’t had the opportunity to do any engagement sessions, so my friends Drew and Heidi were nice enough to let me practice on them! Unfortunately it got dark faster than I expected, but I think I got a few nice shots anyway. If they’re willing, I’ll practice with them a little more another time. For now, here’s what I got!
The Price of Photography
A little explanation of how much custom photography really costs:

I get questions like this a lot, and I tend to feel guilty charging as much as we do. I shouldn’t, because we are a pretty great deal if you think about it! Depending on the date of a session, there might be two photographers getting hundreds of awesome images and spending hours and hours editing them. Even if there aren’t two photographers at a session- hundreds of kick butt images will still be produced. I love doing this- and I’ll spend as long as it takes to make my clients love their images too!
Since I can’t post without a picture… here’s one from an older session that I dug out last night:

Lee Wedding | Springfield Wedding Photographer
On Monday I was invited to get some extra shots at this wedding, and I’m so happy the bride and groom asked me to come! It was a really great experience, and man were these guys gorgeous! They were also really fun and easy to work with- the perfect couple for my first wedding! They were so good at going from serious to silly in an instant. You’ll see that below
Thanks again guys for being my guinea pigs! You were great, and I’m so thankful you let me come to your wedding- it was beautiful.
To everyone else- I’d love some comments! This was my first wedding so I know I have room to improve. Please let me know what you think!

Road Trip
Labor Day
Soooo I haven’t posted anything in a while- but only cause I’ve been super busy getting settled in at college! I’ll take some pictures of my room and the places I’m most likely at around campus… but not until the next post!
For now I’ll share some pictures from the Labor Day races in my home town. My aunt took a couple ones of me (and my cousins) which I’ll share too.
Fall Special? Maybe.
So Whitney and I are both moving. Well- Whitney moved already and I’m moving of Friday. Either way that means our space for full portrait sessions in Kearney/Kansas City are extremely limited. This is why I’m thinking of running a mini session special in a couple of months.
Basically, if there were enough takers, we would do one hour sessions at a location we choose (probably in downtown Kansas City somewhere) for $85 with a $20 print credit. This is pretty discounted from our new prices (which won’t apply to those of you who’ve already had your pictures taken but haven’t ordered yet) so it’s a good opportunity to have us take your pictures and save some money. Normally a session like this would cost $125.
To make our trip back to town worth while, we would need to book at least five people for these mini sessions. If you’re interested, please comment on this post. To convince you guys to take advantage of this even more, if you book one of these sessions and refer a friend for another session, we’ll give both of you 15% of your session fee back in print credit. So we’d pretty much be giving you money.
Please leave a comment if you’re even remotely interested in this. This will be one of the only times this fall we’d be able to come back to take pictures, and it’s the cheapest rate we’ll be giving all year.
It’s possible we’ll announce some more freebies for these sessions soon
And I can’t leave without posting a couple of pictures! These are just a few I took of Taylor a couple nights ago.

Hannah | Kansas City Senior Portrait Photographer
These are from my session with Hannah yesterday. It was a lot of fun- but we might have interrupted a wedding in the park! Haha. Overall it was a really fun session, and we even managed to avoid a little car accident. Hope you like them! I’d love if people commented and told me their favorites, it really helps me improve as a photographer!
I shot a couple of her and her friend Amanda too. Amanda’s pictures are in my last post.
